As I see it…
Confession… my love for reading began with historical romance novels. I shamefully devoured them in my teens. That’s not a typo – I meant “shamefully”. I’d rip the covers off if I dared take them to school. The covers were terrible and did no justice to the heroines I read about. Women who were quirky,Continue reading “As I see it…”
Bird And Bots Gear
“I was excited to see my design on the t-shirt and leggings come in the mail. If the 20 kids in my class saw my shirt I think they would always be looking at me.” ~Judah Hossain “I love my leggings. I’m genuinely proud at my 6 year old’s artistic vision.” ~Jody Parmann “My newContinue reading “Bird And Bots Gear”
Kid’s Activity Page @ Raven CafĂ©
New to the Raven Cafe’s kid’s menu/activity is birds… and bird bots, by Judah Hossain! When I was a kid, my favorite part of the Highlights magazine (besides the hidden pictures) was the kid’s art in the back, so I hope the little Raven patrons dig it! DOWNLOAD PDF
Made by a kid… for kids… and big kids ;)
In the words of Judah, “I feel like kids would like this drawing and all of its action. Dog Corp. Train
This train was just a doodle in the margins in one of the margins of Judah’s school work. The original only had one train cars, so I cloned it so there were two. Always inspired by Harry Potter I decided to use and image of the Hogwart’s Express as inspiration and color palette.
Birds & Bots
Here is the second piece I colored for Judah. This one’s composition is so busy with birds, robots and bird bots! Once again I used a Kandinsky piece for inspiration and color palette.
Robot Hangout
This was the first piece I decided to ink for my 6 year old Judah. Because his intricate/busy compositions remind me so much of Wassily Kandinsky’s art, I decided to pull colors from his Moscow 1914-21 painting and us it as inspiration.
Bitty Baddy Jason Vorhees
I have especially loved doing Bitty Baddy Jason. I grew up on Friday the 13th movies and my favorite part was always the glimpses of humanity. Particularly in the Friday the 13th: Part II where the token survivor girl donned his mother’s sweater. The head tilt would always make me wonder if there was aContinue reading “Bitty Baddy Jason Vorhees”
Newbie Adventures
I have a CONfession… 2 years ago I went to my very first comic con. About 8 months later I attended my first comic con as a vendor. I’m a newbie to the convention scene and a veritable virgin to horror conventions – which is rather surprising since I’ve loved horror movies ever since IContinue reading “Newbie Adventures”
